Praxis 5331 Final Week Study Plan (Day-by-Day)
The last seven days are for consolidation, not new content. Here is exactly what to do each day.
Cross-checked against the current ETS Praxis 5331 Speech-Language Pathology Test at a Glance and ASHA CCC-SLP standards.
The last seven days before the Praxis 5331 are not for learning new content. They are for consolidation, retrieval practice, and arriving rested. Here is a day-by-day plan that keeps you sharp without burning you out.
Day 7 — full-length timed exam
Take a complete timed practice exam in the morning, at the same hour as your real appointment. Score it by content area. This is your final diagnostic and everything else this week is built from the results.
Day 6 — attack your weakest content area
Take the lowest-scoring area from Day 7 and spend the full session there. Review the rationales for every missed item and write a one-line "rule" for each miss, not a paragraph of notes.
Day 5 — second weakest area
Same protocol. Two focused days on your two weakest areas typically produce more raw points than a week of broad review.
Day 4 — high-yield memorization
Cranial nerves, developmental milestones, standardized score interpretation, aphasia classification, and the stages of the swallow. These are pure recall, they appear every administration, and they are the cheapest points available.
Day 3 — mixed practice at speed
Do two 60-question sets under time pressure. The goal is pacing and triage, not content. Track how many items exceeded 90 seconds.
Day 2 — light review and logistics
Skim your one-line rules, re-read your missed rationales, and stop by early evening. Confirm your test center address, your ID, your appointment time, and your route.
Day 1 — the day before
No new content, no practice exam. A 30-minute skim of your notes in the morning at most. Exercise, eat normally, prepare your bag, and go to bed at your usual time. Sleep is worth more raw points on this exam than any cram session.
